My Experience
Pokémon Blue was the game I often hunted out on the playground to look to trade with a friend for those missing pokémon from my copy of red. While the game is basically the same as Pokémon Red it was certainly one I wanted to add to the collection for that amazing Blastoise front cover.
About
Pokémon Blue Version (along side Pokémon Red Version) were in Europe on October 5, 1999. The original Japanese release of Pokémon Blue followed the release of Pokémon Red and Green in 1996, originally offered to CoroCoro comic readers of the November 1996 issue celebrating the 1 million sales figure of Pokémon Red and Green.
The game was then re-released by mail order in 1997 to celebrate the 4 million sales figure of Red, Green and Blue combined. Finally being released as a retail copy in October 1999.
